I'm trying to submit metadata for my uploaded audio file but the fields "mediatype" and "collection" are grayed out and inoperable. The problem is the metadata editor won't let me submit the metadata without this info. How can I do that if I can't enter any info in the fields? See attached screen shot.

Thanks

Hi,

Those fields haven't been filled in yet because there's a previous page that needs to be taken care of first.

If you go to this page:
http://www.archive.org/details/test_audio64

You'll see a page that starts:

Your item is not yet public.
You must pick a collection (and kind of item) now.
Pick one collection below and then hit the submit to the right of it.

After you choose the correct collection (probably opensource_audio and then hit the "submit audio" button), you'll be taken to the metadata editor screen where you can fill out information like title, description, etc.

Thanks,

Alexis

Thank you so much. That page never appeared in the process, which is why I didn't complete it. I appreciate your help.

No wait...I did see that and followed the procedure as specified. The only option in the audio drop down was "Open Source Audio," which I left selected and hit the Submit Audio button.

Hi,

Hmm... well, give it a try again, if you don't mind, and let me know if it doesn't work out. I'm guessing that might have happened if it was taking a long time for that task to get processed?
